Tower

Listen to Chapter 11
Read the "Tower"

"Come, let us build ourselves a city, with a tower that reaches to the heavens, so that we may make a name for ourselves and not be scattered over the face of the whole earth."

Athanasius Kircher, Turris Babel, Amsterdam, 1679

Tom Wright wrote "we read of the Tower of Babel, whose builders arrogantly imagined they had united the world under their rule. God stops work on the tower by scattering the builders across the earth. In its place, God calls Abraham to start the family of faith through whom the nations would be blessed in God’s time and manner rather than by their own arrogance."
